Oliver Gibbs is an independent Information Technology Professional, specialising in UNIX systems engineering, storage and information security & assurance (IS&A). Having accrued a decades worth of experience in IT, UNIX, and Information Security, Oliver Gibbs has gained experience within the academic, investment banking, financial, defence, hosting and telco sectors of Europe, the United States and more recently, Australia.

Oliver Gibbs has achieved the (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), is a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) for RHEL 5 and has certified in both the Sun Certified Systems Administrator (SCSA) for Solaris 10 and the Sun Certified Network Administrator (SCNA) for Solaris 10. Oliver Gibbs has also achieved the VMware Certified Professional in VI3 (VCP3) and VMware Certified Professional in vSphere 4.0 (VCP4) certification.

Oliver Gibbs is a graduate of a BSc(Hons) 'Information Technology and Computing' degree and is an active member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (MIEEE).  Oliver Gibbs has also shown a regular attendance at the OpenSolaris User Groups in Melbourne, Australia and London, England.
